Now building with eeSiteKit

Last year a confluence of new ideas, information and opportunity gave rise to a unique project at NetRaising, a website development framework for ExpressionEnigne (EE) we call eeSiteKit.

We launched our first version of the framework back in January of 2009 and within a few weeks there were developers from all over the world putting it to the test. There was a good amount of interest in the project and this generated quite a bit of feedback from its users.

By February we realized that eeSiteKit was selling as many copies in non-English speaking countries as it was here in the USA. This was very exciting for us, but it also made us a little uncomfortable…

NetRaising discovers new phishing scam in our morning email.

On May 31st 2007 The Internal Revenue Service issued an updated warning about phony emails that scare people into believing they are under tax investigation. If clicked, a link in the emails may give scammers access to your computer hard drive. An e-mail claiming to be from IRS Criminal Investigation falsely states that the person is under a criminal probe for submitting a false tax return to a Franchise Tax Board. Opening up an attachment, or clicking on a link to download a file to learn more about the complaint allows those behind the scam to gain remote access to PC computers.

The IRS does not send out unsolicited emails or ask for detailed personal and financial information, including PIN numbers, passwords or other credit card and bank information.

If you should…

Is your browser up to date?

Although many of the newer Internet browsers will now update themselves, and/or notify you of updates, not all of them do this, and not every computer allows the automatic updates to take place. From time to time you should check to make sure you’re using the latest version of your favorite browsers.

Not only will the latest browser versions come with fun new features and better security for your computer, they’ll also do a better job of correctly rendering web pages for you.

If you…
